Compact Dance Records offers
unique CD's for teaching young children. The Preballet Class
serie is composed and played by Menno Dekker. Menno is an
experienced pianist for ballet classes.
In collaboration with Thérèse Oswald he produced
the following volumes.
Preballet Class, volume

of short exercises, diagonal steps and mime for children
from the age of 3 years old. Very useful for the preparation
of Primary examinations.
Preballet Class, volume 2 contains a large selection of
pieces for improvisation, including seasons, animals, circus,
etc., very useful for toddlers.
Preballet Class, volume 3 contains exercises, diagonal

it, especially the train, witches, dynosaurs and many more.
Preballet Class, volume 4 deals with many exercises for
Primary, Standard 1 level and has a variety of mime pieces
varying from haunted castles to fairies and lots of other
ideas, all superbly played with added sound effects.
Children's Ballet Class contains barre exercises for the
young children, diagonal steps, mime and short dances,
some with sound effects.
All CD's have been produced in collaboration
with Thérèse
Oswald. She studied ballet in Zurich with Harjis Plucis and
Denis Carey. Later she also took classes with Rosella Hightower
in France and spent some time in London with Anna Northcote;
it was there that she became acquainted with the Cecchetti
Method which she was to use in her teaching.
After her dancing career in France she settled in Amsterdam
where she still teaches in her own ballet school.
Her school is an Approved Dance Centre of the ISTD and she
is a Fellow and vocational Examiner of the Cecchetti Society.
She spends a lot of time in England and got in touch with
Marion Porter-Walsh, with whom she produced the unique
CD
Ballet Class for all Levels. The musique on this CD helps
every teacher to construct an inspiring class for more
advanced students, even if the poor teacher is not in the
mood to give a class. It has a large number of allegro
pieces, suitable for petit, medium and grand allegro. And,
there are special pieces for point work.
